OUR JOURNEY

When we began crafting our collections, we wanted to find a way to source our materials without costing the planet. Through upcycling discarded waste into new resources and using alternate raw materials, we slowly began to discover ways to reduce our carbon footprint.

This lead to us breaking down our manufacturing process into three parts.

RECLAIM

RECYCLE

CONSERVE

1. RECLAIM

Repurposing plastic bottles

Another environmental issue we try to address is the amount of single-use plastic polluting the planet. We buy recycled plastics and repelletise them. By melting and stretching these pellets they can be pulled into fine strings used to create new yarns.

For many of our products, such as our Diamond Tasseled Cushions or Diamond Patterned Rugs, you will see the equivalency for how many standard-size plastic bottles were used to create that product lovingly.

For now, it's the little changes we make every day that will help us achieve a more sustainable way of living.

1. RECYCLE

Giving Wasted Textiles a New Life

We use reclaimed fabrics and waste yarns that are destined for landfills, to create our reclaimed yarn products. Yarns and textiles are collected, sorted and colour grouped into similar tones. The textiles are then processed and shredded to create a base fibre for new yarns to be woven into our products.

You can see on our products an equivalency number that estimates how many items of clothing are reclaimed in that item. This process means that each 170x200 cm throw saves the equivalent of 19 garments from ending up in a landfill.

1. CONSERVE

Resource-efficient materials

Some products have more environmentally friendly options that help conserve precious natural resources and provide you with a better user experience at home. Either through better raw materials or final products that allow you to save energy efficiency in your home.

We prioritise resource-efficient raw materials such as bamboo, which conserves 2/3rds more water than cotton. Bamboo can also be grown in over 60% of the world's agricultural spaces, making it easier to access.

Given bamboo's natural characteristics it's much better in bed linens than its cotton counterparts. It's naturally moisture-wicking, thermo-regulating, hypoallergenic and sublimely soft.

We are constantly working towards discovering more eco-raw products that offer further sustainable options for your home.
